Why I'm Studying...

Hi bloggers. Today I will write about why I decided to study subject I chose. Well, the true I never thought studying Geography, in the high school I liked "Geography", but this was very different to the Geography at university. I thought studying Art History, nevertheless, after I give up that idea because there isn't field of work :(, besides I found out that the people that study this career only do so for hobby and because have much money that not need working.

When I did the PSU for go into to university, I not knew what studying until the day of the postulation of careers. I remember that my cousin Camila said me to go where a friend of she, because he studied Geography in the Universidad Católica and he could give me information about career. I went to visit him and I loved all said me about Geography. I found a subject interesting, above all, the fields haha, I liked idea of know others places.

Now that I'm student of Geography I like the subject because the career includes the aspect human and physical space. I think is very complete in this sense. Although I dislike working in the programmer Arcgis because is very difficult for me :(.

I intend to do once I graduate of go to work south of Chile. I think will work in the beginning in a public organism but after I would like do my business mixing the Geography with tourism.

Something you are proud of

Hi blogs. Now I going to talk you about something I am proud of. I think I am proud of myself because I have endeavored enough for achieve the goals proposed in life. All goals proposed relate to the academic field. My first goal in the high school was obtain a mark six or over six, because to enter college you take into consideration the "NEM" (Notas de Enseñanza Media) and only over six you go up the score. I must say that I achieved this goal during the four years in secondary, which increased the score of NEM =).

My second goal proposed was study for exam of entry to college called PSU for have a good score and I enter to a state university. I studied alone, without help of a pre-university. I remember that I printed trials of previous years or I made online manner.

Finally I got the goals proposed: I had a good score in PSU and I enter to a state university. I feel proud of this, because was a long road and not easy for get my dreams. Besides, I was the first daughter, cousin, nephew, grandchild, in go to a state university and pay nothing. All my family congratulated me.
I wouldn’t like to do it again haha. One time is sufficient.

Donnie Darko

Hi bloggers. Today I will write about Donnie Darko film. I watched the movie three years ago and at the time I found great film but very strange. I believe did not understand nothing haha, nevertheless, it was so fascinating for me all symbols and "clues" that gave us the film through pictures and conversations that I did not understand, because seemed "incoherent" and I could not relate. But in my inner (?), I knew everything was related, so I started to research about of meanings and explications it had and also to watching film many times, for I realize of the symbols and the meanings of the script.

Such was my "obsession" for Donnie Darko I made a portrait painting of Frank haha but this painting is not as good u.u

When I watched the film again but with English subtitles in English class I understood better that three years ago with Spanish subtitles haha, but I think is difficult understand the first time.

Today I still think the film is fascinating and very interesting; I like that in the beginning leave you pensive and after it invite you to reflect....it makes look beyond what is to first sight.

A Exhibition

Hi bloggers. Today I will write about a exhibition I went to. When I and my friend Camila were in high school we liked travel to Santiago some weekend for visit many museums, because in Melipilla there is none :(. In one of this trips we went to a exhibition in 2011 of different plastic artists in the Museo de la Solidaridad Salvador Allende, localized in República neighborhood.

We wanted go to this museum, because we love to Yoko Ono haha and this museum had a work of art of her, but also we wanted go because we seemed interesting know this museum, which has paints, engraved, tapestries and photographs that were donated by artists from around the world amongst 1971 and 1973 for express support to government of Salvador Allende.

I remember it was a Sunday very nice and Santiago was empty and it was great walk for streets of city. Besides, when we arrive to museum, we found very cute, because was an old colonial home with a grand wood staircase  <3. The museum was also empty, in fact, I with my friend were alone in the museum and we felt like in home haha. I remember that in the beginning there was a section of voice recordings of Salvador Allende and other of photographs of goverment his. In second floor, were all works of arts and they liked me enough, especially the of Yoko Ono -a chess table with two chair called "play it by trust" - and of Roberto Matta -called "Hagámosnos la guerrilla interior para parir un hombre nuevo".

Something I'm reading

Today I'm gonna write about something I'm reading at the moment. I love reading, but this semester has been complicated read because I have not organized my times :(. Nevertheless in this moment, I'm reading a book called Sweetness and Power: The Place of Sugar in Modern History by Sidney W. Mintz. The book belongs to academic genre, since is a book of anthropology, written by an anthropologist.

I don't knew this author but I realized that Mintz is an engaging and persuasive writer, and this analysis is a classic in food studies

I'm reading this book because I have to do a book review for a elective subject called Political Ecology and geography of commodities (my favorite subject this semester haha).
I like the book, because, is a interesting analysis of the multiple facets of the history of sugar (production, consumption, power distribution, etc.). I think is important know about how the sugar became a food so important in our lives and daily diet (everything has sugar). Besides, always is good learning something new and reflect about of this.

Mintz gives a detailed and informative history of the development of sugar as a commodity from the colonial age to the present. Coming from an anthropological point of view, he examines the cultural impact of sugar production on the Caribbean nations that produce it. He also displays how British organization of the industry in their colonies created an increasing demand for sugar.

After reading book I would like consume less sugar :( haha.

A special talent

Hi blogs. Today I'm going to tell you about a special skill or talent. I was complicated find a talent own, so I asked my mom... mom, ¿what are my talents? She answers me: "You like the fashion, or rather, you like modify clothes that buy at low prices... you fix the clothes and you transform in cute clothes :)". I had not realized of this but is true, I like modify clothes that in the beginning is not attractive for people.

This "talent" is useful because I spending little money on clothes that I like wear, also because I enjoy create different and alternatives garment. In fact, thank this talent I have a shop online :).

Now only my family know about my talent because I discovered recently, in addition I don't like speak about of the things I do to people.

I don't know how I acquired this talent, but I think that I was developing this year with create my shop <3... And the girls like my cute clothes and buy haha. Nevertheless, always I liked observe and analyze the styles of each person y how clothes represent them. I think is interesting. On the other hand, I don't like the people who are obsessed with the fashion because I believe aren’t normal nor healthy. It's only for have fun (?) :).

The first time that we went to dance were in 2010 when we had 16 years old... in third year of secondary. This activity I involved simply because to the 16 years my parents give permission me for go to partys with my friends, nevertheless, always I like dance, in fact, I remember that when I was a child I like dance axé (rhythm brasileño) and the music of a programm of televisión called Mekano haha.

I like dance, because I feeling free and not think in nothing, only let move my body to rhythm of music. Fiestas Patrias (: tikitikiti

Hi blogs. Today I will write about Fiestas Patrias :). First, I want to say that I like the Fiestas Patrias, because are public holidays. Therefore, the people are engaged to celebrate, eat and drink in larger quantities haha and rest. I normally celebrate the Fiestas Patrias with my family during day, my daddy generally makes a roast with much meat and my mommy makes salads and pies. In the night I go to "fondas" or "ramadas" for dance and drink "terremoto" with my friends of Melipilla.

In the last year. I went to the "Fonda FAU" in my university, in the last week to Fiestas Patrias, but in the week of Fiestas Patrias I share with my family -dad, mom, brother and grandmother-, my friends -Romi, Cata and Maca- and my cousin Camila. I, my friends and my cousin we go to a "ramada" in Melipilla, near my house. There, we danced cumbia and cueca haha.

The best Fiestas Patrias I remember was when I child, I remember that all my aunts (eight women)  by part my mother came together for make much Pasteles de choclo ñammmi. This day I enjoyed, because I like see the family together and my mom happy.

Regarding to the typical activities, I think that are important, because this things speak about of ours roots or origins, culture and history. On the other hand, I think that the Chilean rodeo should not exist, because is a animal maltreatment.

A teacher

Hi, bloggers. Today I will write about a teacher I remember. This teacher is my biology teacher. She is called Alicia but everyone called "Tía Alicia" <3. Well, the Tía Alicia was our Biology teacher and boss teacher in all secondary school. She was a good teacher but she spoke very quietly, nevertheless, I like the Biology so I enjoyed much of the class.

At first the relationship of the class with the Tía Alicia weren't good, because my schoolmates mocked or did not pay attention to the class. This occurred because she did not represent authority...she spoke very quietly and is a small woman of height. Besides she causing laughter when was angry, because said us very loudly "CALLENSE SOPENCOS" haha.

However, in passage the years we were growing fond of it, because she is a very noble, good, natural and simple person :). Even, she decided at the end accompanied us to Brazil for the study tour... that was great because at first she not want to go. In the study tour all enjoyed much and relationship affection grew with the "tía".

In the last year, she decided go to other school :(. We ask to her that not out but she had all ready. I remember much sadness those last days and when the day she said goodbye, all came cried :(((.

A field trip

Hello blogs. Today I will write about a field trip I went on last semester. In the subject of Geogragía Económica General, went us in the month of May to Colchagua for analyse the relationship of the commune with the winemaking industry. The idea was see with our eyes the winemaking activity, so went us to the Santa Cruz vineyard.  In the vineyard, a manager person gave us a talk about of the history vineyard and types of wines. We saw how make wine, the types of grape (cabernet sauvignon, syrah, etc.), the crops fields, among other things. I realized that all was related with wine; there was much advertising about wine route and others services for people, such as hotels, restaurants, a casino and rural tourism activity.

This field trip lasted since 8 am to 6 pm, It was exhausting but I enjoyed field trip, because I learned something new, I not knew how the vineyards were. Besides, I bought a white wine for my family and me jeje. The only thing that I disliked was that they not got us of taste wine, only little grapes...  and that the best wine goes to the foreigner but anyway, the chilean wine is good and cheap.

My winter break

Hi bloggers. Today I will write about my Winter break.
Well, first I want say that these winter holidays are differents, because generally, I never leave on winter holiday outside my city.
I went of holiday to Coyhaique, Puerto Aysén, Cochrane and Tortel during two weeks. I went with my cousins Camila and Martina and my aunt Paty. We have relatives in Coyhaique, there live a uncle and a aunt and very cousins. Nevertheless, the true reason of our travel is because my aunt has a boyfriend in Cochrane and she always travel but this time invited us :).
The travel I liked much, because of three reasons. First, because I had never gone in The Patagonia in Winter, I could feel the cold of south and I could touch the snow. Second, because I never had traveled in plane, at first I felt nervous but when the plane took speed and took off was great. Third, because we went to Caleta Tortel, a wonderful place that we did not know. Besides, that day was so magic, because rained much over the small cove made of wood and a "tortellino" dog guided us all the road.
I want come back !

Greece

Hi Blogger, How's it going?. Today I will write about a country that I would like to visit. This country is Greece. Greece became in a place interesting to me when I was in third year of secondary, because in that year in the subject of History, we had to study the Universal History. Then I got to know the culture Greco-Roman which I marveled, especially the culture Greece.
I think it is because all the things that the Greeks created, for example, occidental Philosophy, that gives explanations to things using first time the reason, replacing religious explanations. Also they created the Theater, the History and occidental Literature through the epic poetry of Homero. Other of the things I like of Greece is the Greek art, especially the sculpture, because represents the human body of way natural and with all anatomical details.
If I could visit Greece, I would like go to Atenas for know the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the oracle of Delphi, the theater of Dionysus and the Temple of Poseidon. Also I would love to visit the village Oia in the island of Santorini and the island of Crete. I believe that one day I will visit this country although I have to get together a lot of money.

Luisito

Hi bloggers, today I will speak about my favorite singer, guitarist, poet, writer and composer. His name is Luis Alberto Spinetta, known as El Flaco, one of the parents of the Argentine rock. El Flaco was leader of the bands Almendra, Pescado Rabioso, Invisible, Spinetta Jade y Spinetta y los Socios del Desierto.

I remember I met him when I was in seventh or eighth basic through "Youtube". Ever since I never more stopped off listen his music. The voice and lyrics of Luisito, with a style so poetic, make me fly and separate the feet of the earth... I think that is like a drug. Each one of the songs has something hidden that one tries to decipher, but sometimes I believe that only he knew that which wanted say. This is something that fascinates me deeply.

I like all his songs. Nevertheless, there are some songs that marked me more than others in different stages of my life. For example, Alma de diamante, Bajan, Canción para los días de la vida, El anillo del capitán Beto, Fuji, Perdonado, Por, Aguas claras del olimpo, Durazno Sangrando, Como el viento voy a ver, among others.

In 2010 I saw it for first and last time in the concert "EL ABRAZO", in only 30 minutes. After, El Flaquito, died two years ago of cancer of lung :(((. But that moment, in EL ABRAZO, all was very exciting, because ¡finally! I hear that voice that has marked much of my adolescence.

A beautiful song

¡Hello bloblobloggers!

Today I'm writing about a song I like listening to at the moment.

At the moment, I've been listening the song "Ne me quitte pas" by Jacques Brel. It's a song from 1959 that I heard for first when I entered in the house of my friend about a two years ago. She was at the moment very sad because had finished with his boyfriend and this song more the music video was perfect considering her loving state.

It is a very sad song, desperate... that talk about of a tragic breakup and of a men that would make everything possible for get back with your ex girlfriend and so she would not forget his.

"Ne me quitte pas" is a romantic song and I like for many reasons. First, because talk of the sentiment more profound of a person: the love. Secondly, the musical chords are beautiful. Third, see cry to Jacques Brell singing this song is exciting.

A small beach: El Canelillo

Hello hello geo's :)

The beaches are deposits of sediment to seashore composed for unconsolidated materials. These are important for studies geographers because are areas very dynamic and susceptible to changes topographical and morphological.

Personally, I like more the lakes or river than the beaches but today I'm writing about a beach I like.

This beach is called El canelillo it is localized beside of beach El canelo in south of the comuna de Algarrobo in the Región de Valparaíso, Chile.

El Canelillo is a beach very small and of white sands. The waters are transparents and of  turquoise blue colour.

I have not gone three years El Canelillo because as I said earlier I like more to go to a lake or river instead of a beach but the times I go is in summer season. I like much sunbathing so that  I enjoy of those moments in the beach.

The beach at El Canelillo is good for walking, surfing, swimming, diving or just sitting in the sun.

I like beach because is small, there are few rocks, vegetation has and it is surrounded of hills with pine forests which makes it very special and different the other beaches of Chile.

A TV Show: Los Thornberrys

Hi Bloggers :)

The TV show I'm going to write about is called Los Thornberrys. I started watching it as a child from about age 9 years old in the channel Nickelodeon. It is about a family who travel for the world with the objective of record documentaries about the nature. This family the make up Nigel and Marianne Thornberry, his daughters Deborah and Eliza, a wild child adopted called Donnie and a chimpanzee called Darwin.

The protagonist of the adventures is Eliza Thornberry. She can speak with the animals, because a day saved a wild boar which was a african chamán. He grateful fulfills her dream of speak with animals but with the condition of not telling anyone.

When I was a child the show used to be broadcast on Sunday at 10am. It's duration was 23 minutes. The series ran from 1998 until 2004.

I liked so much this broadcast, because my world became immense to see adventures of Eliza with exotics animals and people the others cultures.

A Photograph in Puerto Guadal

Hi Geo bloggers!
Today I'm writing about a photograph I like. It was taken in January 2014. It's from my holidays pasts when went for the first time to the Patagonia with my family.

This photograph was taken by my aunt Leslie when we arrive to village called Puerto Guadal.
It shows to the right photo the wood house where my daddy lived as a child and where we stayed in summer. The house is located in Puerto Guadal in the south Chile.

Puerto Guadal is a very small town with very few people and surrounded by the big lake General Carrera.  In the deserted streets abounded cherries and the rosehip.

I like so much photograph for two reasons. First, is a place that have many memories beautiful for my dad like the first time that learned to fish and swim in the lake. Secondly, is a wonderful and magic place that excited deeply how beautiful it is.

My dear friend Camila

Good Morning Bloggers!
Today I'm going to talk about a friend. The person I'm going to tell you about is Camila.
I first met her in 2000 the first day of school. I was 5 and she was 5. We weren't friends the start but until fifth grade of primary.  I don't remember how we started talking, but I'm grateful of the moment we joined.

I like Camila because is a very special person, understand me, good listener and stay silent when necessary. Maybe not have many friends, but his few friends are true (including me).

The the main things we did together was walking and walking around the city, listening music from Charly García to Pink Floyd, watch movies together and exchange reads of books.

She likes to read existential literature and his favorite authors are Albert Camus, Fiodor Dostoievsky and Friedrich Nietzsche. Also likes music and his favorite singers are Syd  Barrett, Víctor Jara and John Lennon.

Nowadays Camila lives in Santiago, study Philosophy in Universidad de Chile and has a boyfriend in Concepción,  Chile., that is why we move away for a time. Nevertheless, when we meet sometimes I feel very happy, because I miss much his friendship.

                        Here's a photo before going to a party ¡eh eh eh! :)
